What is odds comparison?
An odds comparison screen puts every bookmaker’s price for the same market side by side. Outcomes are displayed on the left, bookmakers run across the top, and the best available price in each row is highlighted.
This tool should always be used before you place a bet. Minor odd differences over hundreds or thousands of bets can be the difference between being in profit or not.
Why it matters
The same bet, at very different prices
Bookmakers do not always agree on a price, and on an outsider they can disagree massively. Richmond to beat Geelong was priced anywhere from 11.50 to 26.00 across all Australian bookmakers.
That is the same bet, on the same result, for more than double the return. Fifty dollars gets you $575 at one bookmaker and $1,300 at another, and the only difference is the bookmaker you used to place the bet.
Taking the best price every time will not win you a bet you would otherwise have lost, but it increases the return on every single bet you were going to place anyway. Over a large sample size, that is the difference between a small edge and none at all.
